K-tech recently completed a restoration project utilizing Soda Blasting to remove soot from roof sheathing and framing members.

Removing Soot With Soda Blasting

Baking soda being utilized as the medium for high-pressure blasting will remove soot down to the original wood as well as neutralize the off gassing from the fire. The wood is then sealed with a Shellac based coating to prevent any additional off gassing of the smoke smell.
